Our Privacy Policy
The Children's Online Privacy Protection Act ("COPPA") requires us to inform parents and legal guardians about how we collect, use, and disclose personal information from children under the age of 13. It also requires that we obtain parental consent before we allow children under the age of 13 to register for participation in ProjectCSGIRLS. All of the following information applies to children above the age of 13 who register for our program as well.
Parental Consent
For your child to participate in ProjectCSGIRLS, we collect personal information, but we need your consent before we collect, use, or disclose the information. We obtain parental consent by having a parent or guardian of all participating children sign our parental consent form. Please note that your child cannot participate in ProjectCSGIRLS or register on this site without your consent.
Information We Collect Directly from Children
If your child or you (on his or her behalf) registers to participate in ProjectCSGIRLS, we will collect information needed to process that registration, including parental consent. This information also includes a child's name, email, grade, school name, school address, and phone number. A child's participation in ProjectCSGIRLS is not conditional on the child providing any more personal information than is required.
Information We Collect Passively from Children
We may also passively collect information about your child. For example, we may collect certain non-personal information from all visitors to our site, such as IP address, the date and time of visit, time spent on the site, and the type of browser used (e.g., Firefox, Internet Explorer) and aggregate information regarding what pages users of the site access or visit. This information may be combined with the personal information we collect from users.
How We Use Your Child's Personal Information
We use the personal information that we collect from your child to register her for ProjectCSGIRLS, send communications to your child about ProjectCSGIRLS, and notify your child of awards received or opportunities. We may use non-personal information such as information about the pages visited to improve the design, content and performance of our Site, or to analyze Site usage and the popularity of certain pages of the Site. You may request information from us on the type of data being collected, view your child's information, and, if you choose, prohibit us from making further use of your child's information.
How We Share Your Child's Personal Information with Third Parties
We will not share your child's personal information with third parties or sell, rent or trade your child's personal information in any way.
How to Access Information Collected from Your Child
Upon request, we will provide you with the information we maintain about your child so that you may request corrections. This information will be sent via email. Please contact us at info@projectcsgirls.com to request any of your child’s information.
Data Security
We have implemented commercially reasonable safeguards to protect personal information that we collect and store. Despite these precautions, however, no data security safeguards are foolproof. Unauthorized individuals may find ways to obtain personal information from or to access the site. Please keep in mind that we cannot and do not guarantee that information submitted on our site will not be viewed by unauthorized persons. Any content that you submit or allow your child to submit is at your own risk.
